Lions Athletic Program
Our goal is to impact the lives of young student-athletes in a positive way by demonstrating and teaching Christ-like character on and off the court. We hope to instill confidence within these young athletes and help them understand the importance of showing good character in all situations. We strive to do all this while teaching fundamental skills of the sport to young athletes and preparing them for the next level of competition.
Lions Volleyball Program
WCA offers a volleyball program for young women in the 6th-12th grades, with opportunities for students in the 5th grades. We are proud to be able to work with our WCA students and local homeschool students as well.
Our 2022 season is currently underway! View our game schedule below (or click here) and come support our Junior High, Junior Varsity, & Varsity teams play! For additional information, please contact our Program Overseer - email@example.com
There is non-mandatory conditioning for the month of July run by our Varsity coaches. It is geared toward highschoolers but junior high students are welcome to join. Join us at the WCA gym on Mondays and Thursdays FROM 7-8pm and on Tuesdays at the Denver Park sand volleyball courts from 6:30-8pm, as weather permits. Contact Coach Bradi at 937.260.2196 if you have any questions.
This school year we are looking to expand our volleyball program by beginning a league for high school boys. The season will run in the spring of 2023, most likely from March to early May... More details to come!

2022 Lions Basketball
We are ready to launch a basketball program at WCA for the 2022-2023 winter season! Our program will include 9th-12th grade boys and will begin in late October.
For more information about what to expect, please view the letter from our coaches below:
We are excited to begin making plans for a fall ’22 basketball program at WCA! We began offering open gyms last school year to gauge interest and responses to explore what team(s) we could successfully assemble. Based on that response, we have concluded that we can build a junior- varsity boys’ team. This would include grades 9th-12th. Our original exploration included a junior high team as well as a girls basketball team. However, both of these endeavors weren’t feasible for this upcoming season, but it is our hope that we will expand the program to include both in the future. Thank you to all who participated in the open gyms.
The season will officially begin with practices in late October and games scheduled to begin in late November through early February. Conditioning start date TBD. We have several local schools already scheduled for games this fall/winter, which is exciting! Our plan is to have not more than 3 evenings a week committed to basketball (with the possibility of some exceptions). That might look like 2 practices and 1 game, or 2 games and 1 practice each week. We will likely play a total of 12-14 games total this season: a combination of home and away.
Currently, we are anticipating a team of around 12 players. If we add many more, the amount of playing time for students significantly decreases as we try to share gametime. If interest goes beyond 12 players, we may do a sort of tryout period. Again, to provide the most playing time possible. We have established a fee of $200 per player which includes the cost of the team jersey, which each player will get to keep at the end of the season. Additionally, each player will be responsible to provide a current physical from their doctor/physician before conditioning begins.
Finally, we want to use this program to teach the wonderful game of basketball, while at the same time creating an atmosphere for student leadership, character development and discipleship. Sports have an amazing way of teaching some valuable life lessons and we hope to focus in on those through this program, while having a blast playing the game.
Thank you for your interest and we will send more information for conditioning dates, as well as the official start to the season. Enjoy your summer!
