Lions Athletic Program
Our goal is to impact the lives of young student-athletes in a positive way by demonstrating and teaching Christ-like character on and off the court. We hope to instill confidence within these young athletes and help them understand the importance of showing good character in all situations. We strive to do all this while teaching fundamental skills of the sport to young athletes and preparing them for the next level of competition.
Lions Volleyball Program
WCA offers a volleyball program for our students as well as our local homeschool students in the 4th - 12th grades. Until recently we have only had a league for middle/high school girls. We are excited to be able to offer opportunities in this sport for both boys and girls! Please check out the information below to see all that our program has to offer.
Little Cubs Program
(Boys & Girls 4th - 6th grade)
It is time to register for the 2024 Little Cubs Season! If you have a son or daughter in the 4th, 5th, or 6th grade who is interested in playing volleyball, please follow this link to register them for the Little Cubs Volleyball Program.
The cost is $50. Each player will receive a t-shirt and be part of a team that will have 2 high school volleyball players as their coaches. We will have 4 teams and our season will run from February 6 through March 21, two days a week. Practices will be on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:30-4:30. A few parents will escort WCA students from the school to the hangar. Students will be walking down the road and crossing the street. Please pick up your students at 4:30 at the Hanger. Student athletes need to be dressed in gym shorts and a t-shirt with tennis shoes. Knee pads are not required but may be worn. Please do not feel the need to purchase knee pads or volleyball shoes. Please bring a water bottle, as well. In the month of February, each team will practice and learn the game and skills for the entire hour. In March, teams will practice for the first 30-40 minutes, and then scrimmage another team at the gym. On our final afternoon, Thursday March 21, we will have a tournament.
Boys Volleyball
Girls Volleyball
Our girls volleyball program consists of a Jr. High, Jr. Varsity, and Varsity team. The season usually runs from late July - mid October. Non-mandatory conditioning can begin as early as June and continues until the start of the season. Registration for our fall season typically opens the beginning of July. For those interested in participating in our fall season, we encourage them to attend any or all of our off-season events, which include open gyms (February - March), volleyball camp, and conditioning. Details about these events can be found on this page.
Girls Volleyball Registration for grades 7-12 open on June 15th and close on July 15th. Tryouts and start of season begin on August 5th 2024!
Volleyball Camp
For High School girls only on May 20th, 21st, and 23rd from 7:00 to 8:00 and on May 24th from 4:00 to 5:00 located at First Class Athletics. The cost is $10 a day or $25 for all four days.
Conditioning
For High school only the months of June & July conditioning will be held. On Mondays from 6:00 to 7:30 at Sand courts at the park. On Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:30 at the WCA Hanger
Additional Information
In addition to different leagues, conditioning, and summer camp, we also offer clinics in the winter. These typically run February-March. All practices, games, clinics, etc. are held at WCA’s gym located at 745 Davids Drive, Wilmington.
Admission for home games are as follows:

Free / 11 years and under

Lions Basketball
We just completed our second season of highschool boys’ basketball! We currently have a boys JV team for grades 9th-12th and hope to expand the program for the 2024-2025 season to include a boys Jr. High team as well as a girls team. Our season typically runs from mid October - early February. Please check out the information below for opportunities for our boys and girls during the off-season. Boys Basketball
We are anticipating having open gym for 7th-12th grade students beginning mid-May and continuing through June. This is for boys only. Times and dates are still to be determined.
Girls Basketball
Open gym for 7th-12th grade students run on Mondays, 3:30-5pm, from February 5- March 18. We are currently determining what kind of interest we have in a girls winter basketball team. If you/your daughter would be interested in playing during the next available season, please contact our athletic director as soon as possible to help us determine what kind of numbers we can have.
Conditioning
Sport conditioning will be offered this summer to volleyball and basketball students. Times and dates to be determined.(Basketball conditioning for HS girls basketball. Details will be posted when availalble.)
